Access to the Conference

You must register and pay the registration fee to access the Conference.

Conference registration can be processed online. Participants from certain countries may need a visa.

If you have already registered, you can print your badge at the self-print terminals in the Registration Area on the ground floor. Scan the QR code, which you can find in your User Area under Your Data - Bookings, directly on your smartphone or on your accreditation PDF, which you can download from there as well. If you have forgotten your password, please do not create a new account; instead, click on "forgot password”.

Access to the Exhibition

As admittance to the Exhibition is included in the Conference registration, no separate visitor ticket for the Exhibition is needed for registered Conference participants.

If you wish to visit the Exhibition exclusively, please book your Visitor Exhibition ticket online in the User Area. You can print your badge onsite at the self-print terminals in the Registration Area on the ground floor.

You need to be registered for the Conference in order to have access to EU PVSEC 2024 Parallel Events.

Payment of Registration Fees / Tickets

Access to the Conference is only permitted after full and successful payment of the respective registration fee of the chosen category/period. You may pay via bank transfer, PayPal or via credit card. Visa and MasterCard cards are accepted.

Access to the Exhibition is only permitted after either full and successful payment of the Conference registration fee (if you are also participating in the Conference) or full and successful payment of the Exhibition Visitor Ticket. Visitor tickets can be received after online registration or directly on-site at one of the ticket counters.

Credit Cards

WIP, the organiser of the EU PVSEC 2024, accepts Visa or MasterCard credit cards for the payment of your participation fee.

Exhibitors

Exhibitors are listed in the List of Exhibitors which is available online. All important information for Exhibitors can be found on the webpage at www.eupvsec.org.

Exhibitors will be provided with dedicated Exhibitor passes.

Exhibitors, who also would like to participate in the Conference, have to register as a regular Conference delegate.

Green Ticket

The Green Ticket is an add-on to the Conference and Exhibition registration. By purchasing this ticket, attendees support two climate protection projects that help offset the CO2 emissions caused by both the event and the participation in it.

Invitation Letters

For Conference Delegates

Conference Delegates must be an author of an accepted and confirmed paper or must have registered and paid the required registration fees for a conference ticket before requesting an official letter of invitation for visa purposes.

For Exhibitors

The down payment for the exhibition space has to be made before applying for a letter of invitation for visa purpose. You can find the request form in the Exhibitors’ Manual which is available online.

Networking and Catering

Coffee Breaks

Coffee Breaks are included in the Conference fee. They will be served in the Conference breaks in the Exhibition Area, ground floor, right after the registration area.

Welcome Reception

On Monday, 23 September after the last session, the Welcome Reception will take place in the Exhibition Area, ground floor, and is free for all Conference and Exhibition participants. Come and meet your colleagues of the PV community and celebrate the EU PVSEC 2024 as a major networking platform for the global PV Solar sector.

Networking Lunch

A networking lunch is included in the Conference Ticket (on days registered) and will be available for all Conference delegates from Monday to Thursday, 23 - 26 September, in a dedicated networking area, directly in the Austria Center Vienna.

EU PVSEC Dinner
Wednesday, 25 September 2024 from 20:00 – 22:30

The EU PVSEC 2024 Dinner will be the most captivating social event of the EU PVSEC 2024 week:

  • Enjoy a pleasant atmosphere to relax and network

Free Bus Shuttles starting at 19:00 at the Austria Center Vienna, and going back at 22:30.

Online Platform

Together with your onsite participation, you will be able to take advantage of the online features like the virtual poster area or the recordings of the oral presentations (V.O.D.) offered with your registration.

All information on how to access the Online Platform will be sent to you by email on the first day of the event.

PV Job Wall

EU PVSEC wants to help bring qualified PV professionals together with the right companies and jobs. For this purpose, EU PVSEC offers an on-site Job Wall as well as a LinkedIn Group. Companies who are looking for PV professionals can put up their open positions on the Job Wall.

In parallel, you can post job openings in the LinkedIn group, where job seekers will have access to review the positions and apply. You will find PV Job Wall represented at the Exhibition site, next to the Trade Press Wall. Feel free to pin up your printed job offers onto the on-site Job Wall.

Our organisation and registration team will be glad to assist you on-site for any information and help you might need during the event.

The EU PVSEC website will be constantly updated showing key info and all the Event Programme, including all last-minute changes. It also serves as reference for checking further details of the Conference and social programme.

PROGRAMME

Opening Session

The Conference Opening will take place on Monday, 23 September from 08:30 – 12:30 in the Main Auditorium. Three Keynote and Plenary speakers present their research work on the topic PV Manufacturing, followed by the Becquerel Prize Award Ceremony, Opening Addresses, and the Panel discussion with the title 'Solar Everywhere: Addressing the Challenges and Potential of Global PV Expansion'.

Oral Presentations

Orals are verbal presentations with a time slot of 15 minutes, presented in power point. More information can be found in the Conference Programme. Create your personal agenda with the EU PVSEC 2024 Programme Planner.

Plenary Presentations

Plenaries are also oral presentations but with a time slot of 20 minutes and no other session takes place at the same time. More information can be found in the Conference Programme. Create your personal agenda with the EU PVSEC 2024 Programme Planner.

Visual Presentations

Visuals are presentations in the form of a poster. It should concentrate on the outstanding features of a project, and should present data in a way easily grasped by the viewer, with a minimum of text. It will be visible to the participants from Monday to Thursday of the conference week and the speaker is free to present the work at any time. To guarantee maximum information exchange the author will present the poster during a specific time. More information can be found in the Conference Programme. Panel Discussions

Panel Discussions are round tables included in the official scientific programme, whose aim is to serve as exchange sessions promoting the active discussion among key panellists and with the audience on hot topics on particular themes.

Closing Session

The Conference Closing will take place on Friday, 27 September at 12:00 in the Main Auditorium. All EU PVSEC participants are invited to attend this session, which encompasses the Conference Summaries and Highlights, the EU PVSEC Student Awards, the Awards for Outstanding Visual Presentations, and concluding presentations.

The Online Platform

The EU PVSEC offers both a classic on-site event and interactive virtual features.
The online platform will provide access to registered participants (on the day(s) they are registered) to plenary and oral presentations of the conference and the parallel events shortly after the live session, as well as to visual presentation at a glance from the first day of the event.
Additionally, it allows participants to comment on all sessions and gives the opportunity to get in touch and exchange with all participants via the chat function.
The online platform will be available for a full 3 months after the event.

In case you are not travelling to Vienna, with the Online Ticket, all registered participants under this participation type, will have access to the Online Platform of the EU PVSEC, where all conference sessions and Parallel Events will be available for streaming on demand. The recordings will be available for 3 months after the event, giving you the advantage of accessing the content wherever you are and whenever you want. Please note that the Online Ticket does not entail live streaming and live interaction with presenters on-site. For on-site participants access to the platform is included in their on-site ticket (on day(s) registered).

All information on how to access the Online Platform will be sent via email on the first day of the event.

EU PVSEC 2024 Industry Summit

The Industry Summit complements the Conference and puts together sessions relevant for the industry. It includes sessions where industry players can present their businesses (Company Presentations), as well as panels and roundtable discussions to share and discuss new developments in the industrial sector with fellow experts. Most sessions take place within the Exhibition area, but some panels will take place at the Conference area. Participants with valid Conference tickets have access to the whole programme, while those with Exhibition visitor tickets can access the activities within the Exhibition area.

EU PVSEC 2024 Parallel Events

In addition to the Conference Programme and the PV Industry Summit, the EU PVSEC Parallel Events offer a deep insight into specific topics along the most recent technology, market and business trends and address to global decision makers from industry, research, finance and politics.

INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS

Notes / Instructions for Authors & Paper Submission

The Instructions below include important information on how to prepare your presentation and submit your manuscripts for publication in the EU PVSEC Proceedings.

Plenary / Oral Presentations

Speakers of Plenary and Oral presentations hand in their presentation/s at the Presenters’ Desk. A technician will control the correct functionality and transfer the presentation to the respective auditorium. Further details regarding Plenary/Oral Presentations can be found in the Author’s Workstation.

Speakers and Chairpersons of Plenary and Oral sessions meet 15 minutes prior to the start of their session in the respective auditorium in order to be briefed and to become acquainted with audio-visual aid.

Visual / Poster Presentations

Presenters of Visual presentations are requested to set up their posters on the allotted boards from Sunday, 22 September, 16:00 - 18:00, or as early as possible on Monday morning, 23 September, and to take them down on Thursday, 26 September, after the last session at 18:30. All Visual presentations should be presented through the full 4 days from Monday to Thursday in the Poster Area. The panel at your disposal will have a maximum display area measuring 0.85 m wide x 1.20 m high. This allows posters of up to A0 format (841 mm x 1189 mm, upright format). The boards will be numbered according to the Conference Programme. Please find all detailed guidelines in the Instructions / Notes for Authors of Visual Presentations.

Presenters of posters are requested to be in situ at their posters at the session time indicated in the Programme Planner, in order to present their paper to the audience and to create a Q&A session.

Visual presenters, apart from the print, display, and presentation on site of the poster in the corresponding session, are requested to upload their ePoster in the online platform together with a 3-minute explanatory audio. Please find all detailed guidelines in the Instructions / Notes for Authors of Visual Presentations.

Publication in the EU PVSEC Proceedings

In order to be published in the EU PVSEC 2024 Proceedings, corresponding authors of each presentation have to submit the original paper online between 16 – 26 September 2024 in his/ her user area.

Only corresponding authors of each submission may upload final manuscripts. This means that the corresponding author is the only author from each paper that is able to complete the submission (as is the case for abstract submission). If the manuscript is not made available during this period, your paper cannot be published in the Conference Proceedings. The document must be submitted in both Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat PDF formats. To upload the paper, corresponding authors have just to follow the step-by-step procedures provided in the user area and complete the mandatory electronic Copyright Transfer Agreement as one of the steps of the online submission. The Copyright Transfer Agreement is compulsory and can only be carried out electronically. During the submission of your paper, you will be taken automatically to the EU PVSEC 2024 electronic copyright form. Your paper submission will not be complete and therefore cannot be published without the electronic copyright submission. The Instructions for Preparation of Papers are available for download on the EU PVSEC 2024 website. You can find computers and technical support for the online submission of final manuscripts on site.

The EU PVSEC 2024 Proceedings gather all scientific papers, which have been presented at the EU PVSEC 2024 and have also been submitted for publication online. It constitutes a comprehensive source of state-of-the-art information and vital point of reference for researchers, technologists, decision-makers, entrepreneurs, and all involved in the global PV sector.

The EU PVSEC 2024 Proceedings will be available online from November 2024.

Prizes and Awards

European Becquerel Prize for Outstanding Merits in Photovoltaics

The European Becquerel Prize for Outstanding Merits in Photovoltaics was established by the European Commission in 1989 to mark the 150th anniversary of Alexandre-Edmond Becquerel’s discovery of the photovoltaic effect in 1839, which laid the foundation of both, photovoltaics and photography.




Awards for the best Visual Presentations 2024

Considered as one of the main features of the Conference, the most outstanding visual presentations will be awarded. The award giving procedures are based on the quality of the contents reported and on the quality of the presentation.

EU PVSEC Student Awards

To encourage high-quality work among young researchers, the EU PVSEC 2024 Student Awards are delivered in recognition of the most remarkable and outstanding research work in the field of PV on the occasion of the EU PVSEC 2024.

TRAVEL INFORMATION / TOURIST INFORMATION

How to reach

The EU PVSEC 2024 is held in the halls of the ACV – Austria Center Vienna, the largest Congress Centre in Austria, located in the 22nd distract of Vienna (Donaustadt). The ACV is a functional and flexible venue, hosting all kind of events, national and international, from conventions to conferences, corporate meetings, exhibitions, political and public events. With a total area of 26.000sqm available, the EU PVSEC will occupy 5 auditoriums, a big exhibition hall with a separate industry stage, a designated space for the poster presentations, and a large coffee and networking.

By plane

The Vienna Airport is located 20 km (approximately 30 minutes) from the Austria Center Vienna, providing flights to more than 217 national and international destinations.


Transportation

Around the ACV, we can find various means of transport such as a Tram, the Underground, Buses, and Taxis.

By car

The ACV is accessible via Austria´s main national road accesses, the A8, A14 and A22. For your convenience, the ACV has underground parking with 700 spaces.

On foot or bicycle

The ACV is close to several hotels, making it accessible on foot or by bicycle.

The international access code for Austria is +43.

Electricity

The standard power supply in Austria is 230 V AC as in most countries of Western Europe. A transformer and an adapter are necessary to use electrical appliances from various countries.

Adapters are available in most hardware stores.

Time Zone

Austria is in the Central European Time Zone. Central European Summer Time (CEST) is 1 hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+2).
