Key Note Speech
Gaëtan Masson
CEO at Becquerel Institute
Gaëtan Masson, an entrepreneur passionate about solar PV and the energy transition, founded the Becquerel Institute in 2014. He transitioned from finance and IT to focus on climate advocacy, contributing significantly to the development of photovoltaics. In addition to his role as CEo of Becquerel Institute, he coordinates the IEA PVPS Task 1 group dedicated to " Strategic PV Analysis & Outreach". He also co-founded the European Solar Manufacturing Council, and sits in the board of several companies and organisations. |
'The Dual Face of Global Solar Growth'
While everyone should be happy to see PV as a mainstream energy source and 600GW installed last year, the reasons to be cautious are numerous: In a complex political landscape, the opposition towards the energy transition is becoming increasingly sophisticated. The overcapacities in the industry are threatening quality but also the future of manufacturing and the entire research community. In such an environmental, reasons for hope are as numerous as concerns.
Moderated Panel Discussion
'Solar in Turbulent Times: Global Dynamics and the Way Forward'
