EU PVSEC Satellite Event Webinar

As photovoltaic deployment accelerates across Europe, grid congestion is emerging as a critical barrier to further growth. This is particularly evident in countries such as the Netherlands, where limited energy storage and grid capacity are increasingly constraining the integration of new renewable assets. At the same time, the need to maintain system stability, affordability, and security of supply is becoming more pressing.

From Grid Congestion to Grid Resilience: The Role of Flexibility Enablers

  • When: Thursday, 11 June 2026, 15:30 – 16:30 CEST
  • Where: Online, Microsoft Teams
  • Attendance: Free of charge
  • Organiser: WIP Renewable Energies

This webinar will explore how flexible assets can transform congested grids into resilient energy systems. In this context, energy storage is becoming one of the most powerful flexibility tools to relieve grid congestion and strengthen system resilience. Batteries and other storage technologies can absorb excess renewable generation like PV, shift electricity to periods of higher demand, provide ancillary services, and support local grid balancing. Together with demand response, smart control solutions, and digital energy management, storage can help optimise the use of existing infrastructure and unlock additional PV capacity without immediate grid reinforcement.

The event is co-organised by EU PVSEC and Energy Storage Europe. The session will also serve as a preview of the broader debate to be held during the opening of the EU PVSEC 2026, with a particular emphasis on the Dutch context, with the title “Grid Congestion management and the perspective of The Netherlands”. To explore this topic further, together with leading representatives from across the energy sector, join us at EU PVSEC 2026 in Rotterdam and Energy Storage Europe Conference 2026 in Brussels.
