| | | Launching the Year with New Energy for PhotovoltaicsWe hope you had a restful holiday period and a positive start to 2026.
At the EU PVSEC, we begin the new year with energy and confidence, and
we warmly invite you to submit your abstract for the EU PVSEC 2026 in
Rotterdam, the Netherlands. As photovoltaics continue to play a central
role in the global energy transition, the conference remains a key
platform to share research, exchange ideas and advance innovation. To
frame this year’s edition, we would like to highlight the broad scope of
the EU PVSEC, as outlined in the Conference Topics Overview:
Introduction to the Conference Topics Overview
The EU PVSEC aims to cover the broad spectrum of multidisciplinary
efforts required to ensure the rapid deployment of PV and other
sustainable technologies global scale as key enablers of the ongoing
energy transition.
The Conference spans the entire photovoltaic value chain, highlighting
the developments from fundamental science, e.g., early-stage material
and concepts research, to cells & modules, applications, and the
deployment of fully integrated PV systems. It addresses scientific,
technological, and industrial innovation across the full TRL spectrum…”

| Student Awards: Spotlight on the Next Generation of PV InnovatorsThe future of photovoltaics is shaped by emerging ideas and the people behind them.
With the EU PVSEC Student Awards, we recognise outstanding research by
student authors and offer a platform to present new perspectives to the
international PV community. The awards provide visibility, recognition
and valuable exchange with leading experts from academia and industry.
Applications can be submitted as part of the paper submission
process.
We warmly encourage student researchers to seize this opportunity and apply for the EU PVSEC 2026 Student Awards. | Introducing the PhD Student Publication TrackTo
further strengthen student engagement and support early academic
careers, the EU PVSEC has introduced the new PhD Student Publication
Track.
This initiative is designed to help PhD students bridge the gap between
conference presentation and peer-reviewed journal publication. Abstracts
accepted within this track and positively evaluated by the EU PVSEC
Scientific Committee will be proposed for publication in one of the
collaborating international journals, offering increased visibility for
excellent doctoral research.
By linking conference participation with journal dissemination, the PhD
Student Publication Track provides targeted support for young
researchers shaping the future of photovoltaic science and
innovation. | First Recording of the PV Academy 2025 AvailableThe
first lecture of the PV Academy 2025 edition in Bilbao, is now
available to watch. In “From Fundamentals to New Materials for PV
Cells”, Prof. Ned Ekins-Daukes and Dr Shona McNab (UNSW) offer a compact
journey from the basics of photovoltaic conversion to current and
emerging solar cell materials and technologies.
Further PV Academy sessions from the 2025 edition will be released in
the coming months. In the meantime, recordings from previous PV Academy
editions remain freely accessible and offer a valuable resource for
deepening technical understanding across a wide range of PV topics.
We invite you to make use of this opportunity to revisit these lectures and engage with the PV Academy content. | Contribute to the EU PVSECIf you want to contribute to the EU PVSEC, there are many ways to do so:
