PV Transforming the Global Energy System

Message from the Technical Programme Chair

You are probably reading this because you are planning to share your work or are interested in learning about PV and the energy transition at the leading event for PV research.  You are in the right place – the EU PVSEC covers the whole value chain of solar PV, the fastest growing energy source that is powering the energy transition. It showcases research from leading workers in the field as well as the leading companies in the sector, as can be seen in these highlights. I am for this reason pleased to announce the call for papers for the 43rd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference (EU PVSEC), which will take place in Rotterdam, 14-18 September 2026.

Be Part of the Next Chapter in PV Innovation and Submit your Abstract

The Call for Papers for the EU PVSEC 2026 in Rotterdam is officially open, and once again the global PV community is invited to shape the scientific heart of the world’s largest conference on photovoltaics.

This year, that collective effort matters more than ever. The sector is experiencing pressures that go far beyond technical challenges: volatile markets, shifting geopolitical realities and the urgent need to secure Europe’s role in a rapidly evolving global landscape. In moments like these, scientific collaboration becomes both an anchor and a compass. By sharing your results, your data and your vision, you contribute to a shared body of knowledge that strengthens the entire European PV sector.

We warmly invite you to submit your abstract and join a community that continues to move the energy transition forward with determination and scientific excellence.

The EU PVSEC 2026 Conference is structured along five main topics:
  • Topic 1: Silicon Materials and Cells
  • Topic 2: Perovskites and Other Thin-Films; Tandems; New Concepts
  • Topic 3: Photovoltaic Modules
  • Topic 4: Systems Design and Operation; Applications
  • Topic 5: Photovoltaics in the Energy Transition
Your research strengthens our community and supports the progress of solar energy in Europe and beyond, and the EU PVSEC offers a unique platform to share your work and exchange with the leading experts in the field.

Submit your abstract and take an active role in shaping the future of photovoltaics.

Collaboration with Scientific Journals

For many authors at the EU PVSEC, sharing their work does not end with presenting a paper in the conference rooms. Year after year, our long-standing collaborations with leading scientific journals allow researchers to take the next step and bring their results to a wider international audience.

These partnerships have become a familiar and trusted part of the EU PVSEC experience. Selected papers can be considered for publication in Progress in Photovoltaics, Solar RRL, EPJ Photovoltaics and Advanced Energy and Sustainability Research. By maintaining these well-established publication routes, the EU PVSEC supports the visibility and impact of high-quality scientific work, whether authors pursue high impact journals, Open Access options or both.

Take a moment to explore our journal partners and make full use of the opportunities available for your research.

Very Last Chance to Revisit the EU PVSEC 2025 Moments

The sessions from this year’s EU PVSEC in Bilbao are still waiting for you. Whether you want to dive back into a favourite presentation or explore a talk you missed during the busy conference week, now is the perfect moment to catch up.

The recordings remain available only until the end of this month, so make sure to enjoy them while you still can. It is a final chance to relive the ideas, insights and discussions that made the 2025 edition so inspiring.
