| | | A Jubilee Celebration of Solar Excellence and Global CollaborationThe
jubilee edition of the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference
and Exhibition in Lisbon was a resounding success with over 1850
participants from 63 different countries. The event offered a
comprehensive programme with more than 1050 presentations spanning
scientific sessions, engaging panel discussions, in-depth Parallel
Events, and an informative Industry Summit.
The conference venue at the CCL was abuzz with enthusiasm and optimism
as the halls were packed. In addition, the busy exhibition area with
71 exhibitors successfully attracted PV professionals and
facilitated fruitful exchanges with representatives from industry and
research institutions.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the global PV community
for their passionate participation in Lisbon. The crowded conference
rooms, lively exhibition, dynamic discussions and extensive networking
all contributed to the success of the event. We would like to sincerely
thank all speakers, chairpersons, exhibitors, partners and participants
for their continued commitment, loyalty and invaluable support.
| Highlights of the EU PVSEC 2023Over
the course of five days, renowned researchers and industry pioneers
shared their insights with the global PV community. This week's
key message emphasised the crucial role of PV in mitigating climate
change, as called for by the IPCC. Diana Ürge-Vorsatz, IPCC Vice Chair,
highlighted the effectiveness of PV in addressing climate challenges.
The IMF reported record fossil fuel subsidies of $7 trillion in 2022,
underscoring the need to reduce these subsidies to reduce pollution and
protect the climate. According to the IEA, solar PV is cheaper than coal
or gas power and offers affordable electricity prices. The global
community supports eliminating fossil fuel subsidies and increasing
investment in clean energy. With global PV capacity expected to reach
1.5 TW by the end of 2023, the PV community is exploring ways to become a
sustainable and circular energy source.

is tradition, the Student Award recognises the most exceptional and
remarkable research contributions by young researchers in the field of
photovoltaics. At this year’s EU PVSEC, 6 students received this
prestigious award in recognition of their outstanding research and
presentations.
Quote Student Award Coordinator
We sincerely congratulate all the winners and wish to inspire young
researchers around the world to continue their valuable and dedicated
efforts. You represent the future of the renewable energy transition,
and we hope to welcome you all to EU PVSEC 2024, where we look forward
to your latest research work! | Poster Award WinnersThe
poster sessions are an equally important part of the conference
programme and we were very pleased that these presentations were
available in physical form again this year. As customary, the best
posters were selected and honoured at the closing session of the
conference.
We warmly congratulate all 16 recipients of the EU PVSEC 2023 poster awards. You can see the full list of winners here. | Online platform open for 3 monthsFeeling overwhelmed with numerous presentations and limited time to attend them all?
